VENTOUX – ALTITUDE 400 – Red – 2016
From the plain of Carpentras to the slopes of the ‘Giant of Provence’ culminating at over 500m. The most spectacular variations depend on the steepness of the slopes due to the climate differences linked to altitude. It was important to show the qualities of the produce of these terroirs, and that is what we have done with the Altitude range. The cuvée Altitude 400 comes from a selection of homogenous terroirs, situated at an altitude of 400m in a south-facing zone known as ‘Les Condamines’.
This wine is a beautiful, highly concentrated raspberry red colour, with aromatic notes of red and black berries such as redcurrant and blackberry. It has a lovely natural acidity that conjures up notes of blackcurrant. The tannins are round, light, silky, but present, and the wine has great structure and suppleness. It has good force on the palate with light notes of red berries which create a delightful finish.
